15 Minutes from Cottage, This fresh water lake situated inside a cinder cone crater is on private land. You must call the day before to receive permission from owner.  Awesome place to swim.

Located north of Hilo.  The highest water fall on the Big Island of Hawaii

Only 5 minutes from the Cottage.  Open 7 days a week, serving breakfast lunch and dinner.  After you can get a cup of Kava or Awa from Uncle Roberts Kava Bar next door.  You also can find a small convience store here as well.

The park is only a 45 min. drive from the Cottage.  Visit the Crater, Museum, Thurston Lava Tube, Hiking and steam vents.
